Hey, I'm not dead! Back into the foray of writing something that isn't for classes, I bring you this nearly impossible damn meme.

I found it on a Sherlockian LiveJournal fangroup, so here are the rules:

1. Write down the names of 10 characters.

2. Write a fic of fifty words or less for every prompt, using the characters determined by the numbers. DO NOT read the prompts before you do step 1.

I put the list and prompts at the bottom, so no one can cheat when picking characters.



First Time – Lianna Pel-Dar and Franklin Payne [50 words]

Dirt stuck to Lianna’s hands as she pulled herself up to the plateau. They’d fought several giants on their way, and she was exhausted. Her companion, however, looked damnedly fresh.

Payne looked down at her with his infernal smile, and laughed. “First time in the Serpentine Mountains, eh? Jolly Good!”



Angst – Raven [49 words]

Only naïve elves fell in love with humans. They lived short lives, like flickering candles. But Raven was young, once, and she couldn’t help loving Renford. He was a wonderful man, unparalleled.

Standing in Tarant, before his old gravestone, Raven knew part of her would always belong to him.



AU – Arronax and Myrth [49 words]

Wind blows about the two elves, as they sit contemplating the sparkling copper city. The one, Arronax, sits like a silk-clad gargoyle. He is unhappy with the disrespect of Vendigroth.

His companion, Myrth, dream-like, smiles. “You need to cheer up, friend.”

Arronax nods; he has better things to do.



Threesome – Geoffrey Tarrelond-Ashe, Franklin Payne, and Virgil Brummond [46 words]

Virgil immediately folded. He didn’t have anything, and Franklin looked impossibly more cheerful than usual. Virgil knew better.

Geoffrey didn’t, though he had a pair of aces to show.

However, Franklin had three queens. “Ha! A threesome!”

Virgil laughed, as Geoffrey stormed off.

“You’re not funny!”



Hurt/Comfort – Igone and Z’an-Alurin [47 words]

Igone didn’t know why, most nights, Z’an sat looking awake and troubled in the night, when everyone else slept soundly. She just knew it helped when she got up from her bedroll and sat with her, sharing her warm, tan blanket.

“Nice night.”

Z’an relaxed, and nodded.



Crack – Arronax [45 words]

Kerghan looked resolute, through his trial, but Arronax knew the necromancer was seething with indignant anger. Arronax smirked, when Kerghan met his eyes with a cloaked glare.

Arronax waved, mockingly, before the void took him.

Let’s see you beat me in chess, now, old man.



Horror – Z’an-Al’urin [49 words]

They were only slaves, so Master En’nei-Vath let Z’an practice her spells on them. Chains on their ankles tethered them to trees, preventing their retribution. However, one potent stone throw sent one careening over the edge, and the chain broke.

Zan still sees bones jutting out grotesquely, in nightmares.



Baby Fic – Igone and Virgil [49 words]

Igone was convinced she didn’t have a stomach virus, and Fawn confirmed it. She only had to tell Virgil – as if making the transition to lovers wasn’t hard enough.

Igone gestured to her belly, “It seems you left something here.”

Shortly after realizing what that meant, Virgil fainted.

Fantastic.



Dark – Magnus Shalefist and Myrth [48 words]

He stood for everything Magnus didn’t like about elves. They couldn’t be serious, they lacked focus, and they were generally unhelpful. It was nothing short of irritating, when Igone played along with Myrth, instead of smacking him about.

Bah, elves. Something should be done about folk like him.



Romance – Lianna Pel-Dar and Raven [50 words]

Maximillian was a wonderful ally, as far as human kings went, and Raven was happy to travel to Dernholm to discuss foreign relations.

She was all the more happy with her welcome-wagon, Lianna, who hooked her arm with Raven’s, jauntily.

“Care for tour of our more secluded wonders?”

“Oh, please.”



Death Fic – Magnus Shalefist and Geoffrey Tarrelond-Ashe [50 words]

Magnus didn’t like necromancers. Their magicks were sinister — more sickening than any other kind. Tarrelond-Ashe was no different from the Schuylers. Unfortunately, Magnus would have to hide the stupid youth with the splattered head and sneering mouth that would not sneer again.

But, no one would ever miss Geoffrey Tarrelond-Ashe.
